Resolutions

I'm not one to make New Year's Resolutions, because, frankly, it's cliche. But I'm realizing I want some things out of 2011 that I need to actually focus on...

1) Take more time off to just be. I have a LOT of vacation time. I think some random days off here and there are a good use of it. Frankly, we can't afford 3 weeks in Europe, so I may as well find another way to enjoy it!

2) Spend my time with the people and things that matter most to me. I give a lot of my time away to my commute, to busyness, to errands, to frustration. I'm going to put more of my time towards following my bliss.

3) Grow. Grow plants, grow healthier habits, grow my mind. I'm in a growing mindset now. And I can't WAIT to get back into the garden.

4) Ignore perfection. I'm very much into perfection. It's a very bad thing. I need to ignore the idea of it. There's a lot more good in this world than can ever be perfect. And that's enough.

5) Breathe. Breathe in my garden, breathe in my yoga practice, breathe in love and life and all there is to enjoy out there. Just breathe.

I'm trying to let go of negativity. I'm not worried about the bad things. There's too much bad in this world to think about. If it's bad, I don't have time for it. If you're negative, I don't have time for you. Life's too short.

So following my new guidelines, next week I will be taking 2 days off to spend some quality time with my longtime friend, Sheila. We're having a girls weekend, complete with chick flicks, gossip, and fun, while she undergoes her 2nd round of chemotherapy in a hospital in Houston. Life's too short to worry. Focus on bliss.
